Installation Information and Kit

​EasyStart soft starters are waterproof and may be installed on a window unit, or an outdoor home central air conditioner. The only challenge with smaller units may be finding enough space inside of the A/C's enclosure to mount the EasyStart. Fortunately, EasyStart is IP65 (fully weatherproof), so you can mount it just about anywhere inside or outside.

 

The only requirement is that it should not be mounted directly in the hot air exhaust.

​EasyStart can be mounted in any position except with the wiring harness pointing up. This is because the capacitor in the box cannot be mounted with its bottom as the highest point. Any mounting position that complies with this is acceptable.

Even though the EasyStart can have direct weather contact, for optimum longevity it should be mounted in a protected spot whenever possible. Do not block evaporator airflow or mount your EasyStart in the evaporator hot air flow as this can cause a failure and affect the operation of your air conditioner.

Mounting methods can include double sided foam tape, screws and zip ties. Be very careful using screws or drilling as refrigerant tubes can easily be punctured.
